So last weekend the plan unfolded — a quite elaborate plan, I might add. JD took Trish out to Newport Beach for, what she thought, was her birthday. Little did she know that he was bringing an ultra fancy engagement ring and a bunch of in-laws. (Hey, you guys better get used to it! The in-laws come with the marriage.)
Anyway, me, Lisa, Alayna and Ashley (Tricia’s sis) got down there early and decorated a small cruise boat in the Balboa Harbor with roses, candles, champagne glasses and other goodies. Heck, they even set up an Ipod cued with the couple’s favorite love song. About an hour later, Jon rendezvoused there with Trish and they set about cruising the Balboa Harbor. That’s where he sprung the question. . . and Trish sprung a leak — I mean, she agreed.
A group of us had, unbeknownst to her, gathered on the beach to celebrate. After the excursion, Jon and Trish went walking on the beach and, lo and behold, there was the entire clan — sisters, nephews, uncles, grandparents — clapping and cheering and weeping. Tricia was very surprised. It was quite and event in a relationship that will surely be full of events.
Tricia is a terrific person! We love her lots and they make a great couple. Congratulations Jon and Trish!
Darling couple. (Son looks an awful lot like Dad.)
Thanks Mike! We’re looking forward to all the upcoming events and memories we can all share together!
Jon & Trish
Well I’m happy for both of you and I wish you two the best…Love you guys
Ah that was a fun day! I’m so glad that you guys are now apart of our family. 😉
They’re not married yet but I guess we’ll start letting Theo call her Autie Trish.
Congratulations guys! I hope that your engagement is a fun time.
Could someone call me cupid or what
Jon did great 🙂
The “spirit” of your family is growing with beauty and strength every year, isn’t it 😉
Aw. Sweet story and darling couple. Congratulations to them and you, Mike. And have fun on the wedding-planning roller coaster. Ours just coasted to a stop eleven days ago, but the thrill hasn’t begun to abate. I can’t stop smiling.
May Jesus guide their every step.
