My Top 10 Posts of 2013

I continue to have a love/hate relationship with this blog. Maybe I’m finding a bit of a groove — some of the stats might indicate that — but 2013 saw that relationship soften a little. Frankly, I find far more upside than downside to blogging. Which means unless an unforeseen act of God occurs or I am deluged by publishers vying to sign me to a multimillion dollar book deal, I shall plow forward with my weekly ruminations and cerebral grumpiness.

So by way of total Page Views, here’s my top ten posts of 2013.

10.) Religious Progressives’ Top 5 Most Hated Evangelicals

9.) Let’s Stop Being So Easily Offended

8.) “Redeeming Love” — A Review

7.) The Top Ten Questions Asked in the Bible

6.) How “Christian” was C.S. Lewis… and Why is He an Evangelical Hero?

5.) Christian Fiction Is NOT a Victimless Crime

4.) Interview w/ Darrell Dow of Stuff Fundies Like

3.) Are Christian Feminists Hurting Their Cause?

2.) Why Christian Fiction Writers Love the Nephilim

1.) Interview w/ Stephanie Drury of “Stuff Christian Culture Likes”

A few thoughts. One, the two subjects that evoked the biggest draws were clearly those related to, a.) Religious progressives and b.) Christian fiction. It should be noted that, in the case of both, I am typically critical of the industries they rep, which could explain much of the draw. Second, I’m rather surprised at the tenure of certain posts and am not sure what to attribute their continued draw to; namely “‘Redeeming Love’ — a Review” (2 1/2 years old), “Let’s Stop Being So Easily Offended” (over 3 1/2 years old), and “How ‘Christian’ was C.S. Lewis… and Why is He an Evangelical Hero (over 6 years old). Third, the continued popularity of my Nephilim post (almost 2 years old now) is proof my theory is accurate.

Anyway, it was a fun year of blogging. If you missed any of the above posts, please feel free to take a gander.

And here my most popular entry is “Another Friday Cat Post.” Sigh.

Well, as for the draw of the C. S. Lewis post, I clicked on it mainly because I was shocked at the post title.

Of course the top posts on MY blog are all dumb ones like the time I blogged about whether Barack Obama had Asperger Syndrome. (Sadly, my cat related posts didn’t win any popularity contests.)
