For the record: I am not being paid by anyone to make this list and promote their book. These selections are entirely my own. I know I missed some good covers and would love for you to point them out. Also, in all honesty, I found the pickings slim this time. There are SO many Historical covers out there that look SO much the same, it’s almost unnerving. Anyway, this is my list and I’m stickin’ to it!

Ha! I knew I’d have to defend my bonnet selection. I just thought that in a world of bonnet books, that cover captured the craze in a modernistic fashion. But I have no idea what the book is about.
I read and loved Operation Bonnet. It’s not Amish fiction at all. It’s based in Amish country and the Amish do appear BUT the main character is NOT Amish and neither do they get glorified or romanticized or anything like that. It’s one of the most hilarious books I have ever read, seriously I spit out my drink a lot while reading.
Those are phenomenal. But I would switch the Bonnet book with When Sparrows Fall. Maybe that’s just because I’ve read the book and loved it and I think the cover fits the book well.
Sally, I did like the cover to that book and almost included it here. Once again, with so much women’s fiction out there, after a while all the covers seem to blur. At least, in this man’s opinion.
Pattern of Wounds is my absolute favorite. The others (The Chasm, The Promises She Keeps, Roadside Assistance) are tied for second place.
I agree it is slim pickings when it comes to finding something different.
Two other new Zondervan covers I love are Michael Snyder’s A Stand Up Guy and Camy Tang’s Protection for Hire. Also Hitler in the Crosshairs although it looks like a non-fic book, also Zondervan.
I love the Seraph Seal. second would be Pattern of Wounds, but I have to admit Jenkins’ cover is appealing too. So is Healy’s. You did a good selection, Mike. Noticing yours is absent. 🙁

I’m starting to think about self-publishing mine so I’m designing a new cover. I definitely plan on stealing ideas from others who actually know something about graphic design. 🙂

I’m still crushed that they changed Erin Healy’s cover from what it was originally! (which was GORGEOUS)
