Giving Thanks, Times Two

IMG_3084.JPGThanks- giving is my fav- orite holiday, and this year, I’ve got something special to give thanks for. The person glowing in the pic above is my oldest child, Melody. She is carrying someone very special. It is my grandson, Theodore Jacob Fredricks. Little Theo (as he’s Family1.jpgalready dubbed) is due to make his grand entrance in mid-January. This is Melody and Jacob’s first, and mine and Lisa’s. Yep, we’re going to be grandparents. So what if it ages us. I couldn’t think of a better way to be aged. Anyway, this holiday, we’ll be giving thanks and eating for two. Here’s wishing you and yours a blessed Thanksgiving!

Well Mel you’re almost there! Than the fun will begin(parenthood). The late nights staying up with Theo, the dirty diapers, the crying, the first step, and don’t forget the first words(Jon-Jon). I can’t wait for you to be a soccer Mom you will do great screaming at Theo on the sidelines with a big red face. Yes its true you’re going to be just like Lisa Lynn Duran the one that carried you around for nine painful months. Well Meme I can’t wait to see my nephew!
    Love, Jon-Jon

    P.S. Jake you’ll be a great Dad.
But please I want him to be good at sports
    so let me coach him.

    Hey Meme,
we are all very excited and thankful for you, Jake, Theo, and Champ. And yes, you will be the center of attention during the next few months. We know how much you love that.

    MeMe,
Remember when you used to say you never wanted to have kids and that kids are so bad, yeah I know you remember those days because I do. We all cant wait and I know your very excited and scared but dont be scared, just think this way after this one you can move on to the next. I love you guys and know you two are going to be great parents.

To: Dad, Mom, Chris, Jon & Alayna-
Thank you for all your love, excitement and support for Theodore. I know that he is very curious to meet the people who have been pushing on and poking at him for the last 9 months. He’s almost here, just be patient. Dad – I think we have decided to give Theodore two middle names, Theodore Jacob Thomas, Thomas is after Saint Thomas Aquinas, Jacob’s hero.

    Love, Me-Me & Baby Theo

That’s awesome!!! Oldest and I are enjoying these pics 🙂 She’s my one who wants 12 and always has! We were just at another blog where they’re celebrating their 25th anniversary, and I showed her the wedding pic and the “now” pic, and she looked at me like, “whatever, mom.” Then I showed her Melody with baby and family patting baby and she lit up like a Christmas tree!

What an awesome adventure … being a grandpa 🙂 Little Theo is enormously blessed to have such a wonderful family waiting to love and adore him!

Congratulations, Mike. We’re going to become grandparents around the same time. Our elder son’s and his wife’s baby is due the 24th of Jan. but may come earlier as he’s already quite well developed.

It’s exciting. I just wish they weren’t so far away. They’re near Phoenix and we’re up in Ottawa.

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

    Deborah

Blessings to you and yours, Mike. We just became grandparents for the 2nd time, and baby Peyton (now 3 1/2 months) is just the cutest little thing (but of COURSE I have bragging rights…hehe…) You’ll be amazed at all the love that pours out of your heart for that first grandbaby and all that follows.

    Wishing you all the best….Vicki

Mike, you’re gong to love being a grandparent. The kids were just a warm-up. The real fun comes in spoiling your grandkids and sending them home to their parents.

When your own kids act up, it seems like a reflection on you. When your grandkids act up, they’re just being kids. I wonder why that is?

Oh well – we don’t have to figure it out. Just enjoy little Theo.

    That is great, Mike. Congrats.

My two girls are the only grandchildren on either side, and they are the joy of both sets of grandparents. They are also horribly spoiled, which is something I get to deal with. So, do your daughter a favor and don’t spoil Theo too much 😉

    Duran-Fredricks Fam,
You have such an awesome family. We watch you all and are always blessed and inspired. We were thinking if we were in our 20’s we would love to hang with Jake and MeMe, they realy know how to relax and enjoy life. We are very excited for you all. It just keeps getting better, doesn’t it?
    Love you all,
    Don & Chris
