Well, it’s official — all our kids are adults! This weekend, we’re celebrating Alayna’s 21st birthday. She’s the baby of the family, folks. A long time ago, she promised to be “the best teenager ever.” Having failed at that promise (as all teenagers do!), she’s now pledged herself to being “a pretty good adult.”
Really, Alayna’s been a great kid — responsible, hard-working, faith-filled, fun-loving, and driven. She has held down a job at Stater Bros. for the last five years, bought herself a car, and is paying her own way through college. Hey, what more can a parent ask? Next month, she begins her first semester at Cal State Fullerton pursuing a career in photojournalism. God bless and keep you, Alayna. May He grant you the desires of your heart. We love you!

Hey LayLay! Your all grown up. I wish I could be there today to give you a hug & kiss in person. AND I wish I was allowed to go to Vegas…but apparetnly your Mom & I are too old to participate. I remember the Sunday at church right after your daddy announced your birth. The tears welled up in his eyes as he said how thankful he was for you. You are such a beautiful woman, and it's hard to believe you are 21.
