And Now For a Few Changes…

As you may have noticed, I’ve changed my website theme. I am now using the popular Thesis Theme for WordPress. The visual changes should be minimal, nothing fancy. What I’m hoping to add is a little more readability, navigability, depth, and SEO compatibility. Ever since my first website design (*yikes!*), I’ve been progressing toward something less cluttered. Hopefully,  this change will accommodate that goal.

Anyway, DeCompose will be in a bit of transition for a few weeks. It shouldn’t interrupt my posts or be a distraction to the reader (see fingers crossed). Nevertheless, I will be adding a header (I still like my conversational skeletons, so I may opt to keep ’em), and tweaking minor stuff like colors, sidebar widgets, fonts, etc. My, how I love experimenting!

And now I’ll have to eat crow. Why? After grousing about Twitter, I am now officially using it! (Go ahead, Michelle. Laugh.) Yes, I still have near-zero tolerance for the pointless stream-of-consciousness, what-I-am-doing-at-the-moment Tweets, even if what I’m doing at the moment is pretty cool. Perhaps when I can afford a Blackberry or an iPhone, this might change. But for now, my handle is “cerebral grump.” (I’ve included a link in my “Follow Me” sidebar widget.) But I’m moving slowly over there, learning the lingo and building followers. So don’t expect an ongoing Tweet-stream. (Nevertheless, this is the perfect place to suggest you become a follower of mine!) Along those lines, I’ve been thinking about dropping Myspace. It just seems so yesterday. Anybody still use that?

I’ve had significant enough interest in my handmade crucifixes (here’s v. #1 and #2), that I will soon be starting a separate page in the Nav Menu for folks that are interested in purchasing one (that sounds weird, but hey, I must “go with the flow”). And while I’m thinking about it,  have I said “Thank you” to those of you who have become Friends of this site through the Google Friend Connect in the sidebar? If not, thank you! I really, really appreciate it.

Finally, Lord willing, I’ve a few other important announcements to make in the next few weeks. Stay tuned, and thanks for visiting my website!

'Bout time you got on Twitter, dude. Really. I mean, what have you been doing with your spare time, reading books or something?

JK. You'll have a blast on Twitter. I love it.
    🙂

I like the conversational skeletons, too. Think of Twitter as a ministry, not a what's happening, and you'll reach more people that you can possibly imagine. It is astounding. No MySpace, just Facebook… I've connected with lots of authors on there. I think I've trained my friends not to send me farm animals or stupid trees…
