iPod Playlist

The high point of our recent vacation in Santa Cruz was seeing Jamie Cullum in concert at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga. Wow! What a setting! And JC put on his typical hyper-kinetic show. His latest project, The Pursuit, is one of my recent faves. Of the albums I’m spinning, these are currently occupying the top spot on my iPod Playlist.

  • Broken Bells — Broken Bells
  • Mumford and Sons — Sigh No More
  • Andrew Peterson — Counting Stars
  • The Black Keys — Brothers
  • Alice in Wonderland Soundtrack — Danny Elfman
  • Snow Patrol — Up to Now
  • Arcade Fire — Suburbs
  • Future of Forestry –Travel III
  • The Avett Brothers — I and Love and You
  • Jamie Cullum — The Pursuit

Thanks Matty for The Avett Bros. (via Chris) — I love it! — and Chris for The Black Keys hook-up. Nothin’ like old school blues rock. I’d heard so much about Andrew Peterson and finally purchased his latest. His lyrics are quite rich. However, the jury’s still out on Danny Elfman’s latest soundtrack. It’s seeming less like something new to his canon. Broken Bells may be the best produced album I’ve heard in a while and the Arcade Fire’s new one will, undoubtedly, be in many year-end Best-of lists. What about you? Any albums worth recommending?

Broken Bells, Black Keys, Snow Patrol, Arcade Fire…can’t argue with those. 🙂
