Speaking of great covers – Winter Land and The Resurrection both have fantastic covers. Well done , Sir.
If a book cover is really outstanding I will buy the book with no intention of reading it. In my experience the story inside will either match the asthetic appeal on the cover or be a complete peice of garbage. I should mention that this is simply based on my tastes. So, if i think something is terrible I can see how others might like it. Thus the effort to get a high quality cover.
